SOME SPIRITUAL HINDRANCES TO HEALING

• fear
• unforgiveness and holding grudges
• hatred
• jealousy
• anger
• lying
• hard hearts and stubbornness to receive good council or help
• lack of faith
• ignorance of the Bible
• disobedience and sin
• bad habits and addictions
• not obeying God's laws and commandments
• not being good stewards of our own body and health
  

Demonic curses

You may have things in your past that have not been taken care of spiritually because you didn't know about them or forgot about them. Sometimes you are not even the one who did something bad, but your ancestors did. Curses can be passed down to us from the sins of our relatives.

We break the curse through the blood of Jesus and knowing what Jesus did for us by paying for our sins on the cross. Even though we are forgiven of our sins when we are born again, sometimes we continue with bad habits, or emotional hurts that carry over into our Christian lives.

For instance, if someone hurt you deeply and you are having trouble forgiving them, then you allow the evil one to creep back into your life. Satan doesn't care what avenue of weakness you have. He will try anything to get you back into a weakened state. He is very sneaky and tries to discourage us in any way he can. He is often called the accuser of the brethren. So, the easiest thing you can do is admit that you have sinned, ask God to forgive you of all your sins, and if there is anything God wants you to face up to, ask Him to show you what it is.

Sometimes, our emotional scars are so deeply embedded that it takes time to work it out. God is very gentle, loving, and merciful and will show us what needs to be dealt with, when he knows we are at a place in our life when we can handle it and be set free. It could just take time, or the help of other believers to help us with it. Sometimes we even need to have demonic deliverance through an anointed person of God who knows how to cast out demons.

Not everything is demonic. We shouldn't be looking for demons under every rock and accusing others of being demon possessed. There are times when casting out demons is necessary, but other times, just realizing who the enemy is and what we can do about it, is all that is necessary.

Possession and oppression of demons are two different things. Possession means that a demon or demons has possession of a person, owning them, so to speak. When a person is possessed, the demon is controling them. The demon is living inside of them, manipulating them to it's purpose and will. Demons mess with the mind. Oppression is attacking from the outside. It is not living inside someone, but they may think it is, because it will whisper evil thoughts to them and try to make them do something wrong. Christians can be oppressed. Demons can make you sleepy whenever you try to read the Bible. They can distract you from praying. The demon's purpose is to confuse, discourage, and make you useless in the kingdom of God. It will try to get you so upset with yourself that you begin to hate yourself and others. Demons are assigned to people to make them useless in God's army.

Face it. We are at war.

Life is a constant battle between the forces of God and Satan. When you become a Christian, you are inducted into God's army. Demons try to keep you defeated and powerless by taking away your spiritual weapons. You can just sit by and let them do it, or fight back. You can go into life's battles without putting on your armor and wonder what hit you, or you can prepare for battle and be the victor. If you obey God and follow his orders, you will win. Otherwise, you might as well let them clobber you. They pick on the weak, you know. They are a bunch of bullies and don't fight fair. Whether you like it or not, you are part of an army. So decide which side you want to be on. Then put on your armor, because you are going to need it. If you were a part of the military, you would never go into a battle without your proper attire, and weapons, yet, Christians go into life's battles every day without a stitch of spiritual armor on. Can you imagine our military going into battle in just their diapers with baby rattles for weapons?

Eph 6: 10* Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11* Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12* For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13* Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14* Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15* And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16* Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17* And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18* Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

In the spiritual kingdom, the forces of evil and good are at war with each other. Just as God is the head of the angels, Satan is at the head of the demons. There are ranks in angels and demons. Some have higher ranks than others, just like in our armies. There are demons that are in charge of certain territories, such as countries, states, cities, lands, etc. Because God loves people so much and has made humans in His own image, Satan is trying any way he can to destroy humanity. Satan knows now that he can not kill God. He tried to kill Jesus, but instead, Jesus took the keys of death away from Satan and came back to life on the third day and took away Satan's power over people. When we acknowledge that Jesus paid the penalty for our sins and covered us with his own blood, we are set free once and for all from the accusations of Satan.

Isa 53:5* But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Jesus was whipped with 39 stripes...or a whip of 9 tails of leather intertwined with sharp objects. That meant he was whipped 39 X 9 or 351 times. Frances Hunter said that there are 351 catagories of illnesses and diseases. Jesus took every single catagory of human sickness and disease on his own body and bore our pain and sickness for us. He took our sickness instead of us. He paid for all our sins by willingly taking our place on the cross. He loved us that much. There is nothing else Satan could do. Jesus took Satan's attacks without complaint, and by His death and resurrection, He set us free. His own blood paid for our sins in full. We are set free through Jesus own blood. Demon's are scared to death of the blood of Jesus. They know what Jesus did on the cross. They don't want people to know what Jesus did, because when they find out the truth, demons no longer have any power over us. So, when you mention the blood of Jesus, the demons flee. We are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ. Demons want to keep us ignorant, so they can walk all over us, keeping us defeated. The truth shall set you free!

De. 18:10* There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, 11* Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. 12* For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. 13* Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.

Check your past to see if there is anything you need to bring before God, so He can set you free. You may need to do some house cleaning and get rid of anything that does not please God. In Paul's time, the new converts had a book burning of all the books on sorcery that they owned. They didn't try to resell and get their money back, they burned it.

Ac 19:19* Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.

Clean out your house and heart!

• books on: pornography, occult, witchcraft, etc.
• having false gods, idols, statues of gods, goddesses, on your property or possession
• having lucky charms, occult objects on your property
• dabbling or practicing in the occult, witchcraft, sorcery, casting spells, astrology, fortune telling, communication with the dead
• sins of inheritance
• curses on family members
• any games that cast spells or get their powers from the occult: wizards, witches, warlocks, demons, monsters, etc.
• mind control: eastern meditation, yoga, reiki, hypnotism, etc.
• trying to make contact with the dead with such games as ouija boards, seances, etc.
• You get the idea.

• The promoises of God are yeah and amen.  Take hold of the promises and do not bend with your emotions as you walk by faith.  Spiritual hinderances to healing, are you in need of healing and find your healing is hindered.  Healing is delayed, illness a thorn in the flesh.
