What is Idolatry?

IDOL:
1.  An image of a god used as an object or instrument of worship.  2.  any heathen deity.  3. any object of ardent or excessive devotion or admiration.  4. anything that has no substance but can be seen, as an image in a mirror.  5. any image or effigy, an imposter.

IDOLATOR:
1. a person who worships and idol or idols.  2. a devoted admirer or adorer.

IDOLATRY:
1.  worship of idols.  2.  excessive devotion to or reverance to some personor thing.
